And back to Paris! This is the Panthéon, a marvelous classical-greek styled building in Paris' Latin Quartier. Rumour has it that King Louis XV made a "deal with god" that if he were to get better he would replace the collapsing Abby with a new church. When he did get better he ordered the construction of the Panthéon.
I have something in common with this building also. My highschool was one of the few places in North America to have a Foucault Pendulum, the instrument that first confirmed the rotation of the earth. The very first such pendulum was built here, at the Panthéon.
