Ah, yes, the sidewalk cafe. They're everywhere in Paris and, unlike here at home, they appear in some of the must unusual places. There are no barricades around the cafe space as there are here in Toronto. The lines between public right of way and private land are blurred as tables literally spill out of the restaurants and onto the street. The cafes even have unique little gadgets that they can put under tables
when two legs are on the sidewalk and the other two on the road in
order to hold level.
I have some great photos that I'll try to post over the coming days/weeks of cafes of all different types in all kinds of different locations. Of all of my cafe photos, though, this one is my favourite.
