Shakespear's Library

One of the most famous bookstores in Paris is Shakespear & Co., located just off the Seine River at the north edge of the Latin Quarter. On its upper floor is a "library," an area open to the public to browse, but which contains thousands of books that are not for sale. While I don't like the glass podium in the shot, I wanted to capture the room exactly as it was: the broken chair arm, a piano seemingly held up by books, the broken glass on the clock face, the clutter, and the soul of this incredible little bookstore.
