Tiers of Development

I took this photo while riding my bike along the waterfront trail in Toronto the weekend before last. This was shot out near Ontario Place, looking back intowards the downtown. When looking back through my photos this one struck me because of the old Canada Malting Building which stands out, and seemingly out of place, at the centre of the photograph. Shooting with long lenses is always fun because it can collapse distance into a very flat image but in this photo that also shows off how the City has grown on the waterfront in many different ways. Newer midrise homes in the foreground in Industrial architecture at Bathurst Quay in the centre and waterfront condominiums, the latest addition to the waterfront. I like how much there is to look at in this shot -- not to mention to birds flying north for the summer!

I love the Canada Malting Co. Building. This photo has so much to look at. Fantastic. Such an interesting context shot.

love the 2d feel to this and the busyness. The birds are super.
