Portland

First off sorry to all of you who check in frequently looking for new posts. I've been so busy in the last few weeks and I've been travelling a lot for work on top of it all. My most recent adventures took me to Portland, Oregon, where I was investigating how investments in infrastructure, particuarily transportation infrastructure, have had on the community over the past 30 years, as well as examining how the city has undertaken redevelopment of key brownfield lands (a former rail yard) into what is now one of the most active cultural districts on the west coast.

Over the next few days (I can't promise every day!) I'll try to post at least one photo from my trips to either Portland, Vancouver, and before that, Pittsburgh. The weather rarely cooperated but I did manage, even in the rain, to get a few nice shots that I'll be sharing.

I took this shot while rushing between meetings last week. You can see where this was taken using Google Street View by clicking 'here'

A word of warning: some of my posts in the coming days may be less artistic and more urban-planning oriented (my profession) but I promise to post things that I think you will find interesting.

Thanks for sticking around, or dropping in. I'll be by to comment on all of your blogs again soon :)

I've always wanted to major in Architecture and Urban Planning, so I'm looking forward to your pictures smile Its great you get to see such architecturally nice cities and share the pictures with us.

This image has a very comic-feel to it. I love it!
