The Old and New Nanjing.

This photo was taken atop the City's Historic Wall near Xuanwu Lake Park looking west towards Gulou metro station and the new tower being constructed adjacent to it. When complete it will be the tallest tower in Nanjing and it is expected to remain the tallest for many years into the future. I liked this photo for the contrast between new and old, almost ancient. The photo does not do the wall or park justice though. The views from the wall are quite spectacular, looking either out to the lake, or inland towards the Jiming Temple.

It certainly does show the contrast between the people-sized old building and the almost impossibly huge tower in the background.
