The Causeway Towers

Many of the buildings in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, look great until you look up. In this district the ground floors and busy streets masked the poor quality housing stock rising from above the commercial stores and trendy pedestrian-filled streets.

It looks pretty ghastly. Surely there are "smart" areas too? Do you know if it's always been like this?
Iain Myrans: Hi Ellie, well the downtown commercial core in impressive with its massive steel and glass structures. But so far everything else I've seen on the Island of Hong Kong looks much like the image above. I wish I'd taken a photo at ground level. When I get home I will try to find one on my camera and upload it. The first two floors look great. This was taken in the heart of the busiest shopping district in Hong Kong (Causeway Bay). It's pretty flashy so long as you don't look up! I'm about to hop on a 15 hour flight home so in about 36 hours I should have another photo posted.

That's a fascinating photograph and insight into a world I have yet to visit.

I had heard a few similar reports, but never dreamed it was quite so bad with the cockroaches! That's an amazing perspective.

I'm looking forward to your next batch of photographs
Iain Myrans: The next one is up now Floog smile
