photoblog image Night at Polson's Quay

Night at Polson's Quay

One of the best lookouts in the City of Toronto is Polson's Quay where the observer (or photographer!) can get a wonderful glimpse of the entire city skyline from an angle it is not usually seen from. The area, presently home to abandoned industrial facilities and  small, but ongoing, port operations will over the next 20 years be converted into a large park and mixed use residential and office neighbourhood -- at least in theory.

Crazy color smile I like it and it reminds me that I need to do some night photography again myself.

I love this shot. Having the CN Tower lit really changes the look of it, I'm glad the technology makes it economical now.

I sense from your comment that you doubt the City's ability to bring plans into reality. I can't believe you have so little faith wink
Iain Myrans: Well I do doubt the city's ability but I don't doubt Waterfront Toronto (Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation) so much. I think redeveloping the lands they're already working on is a much easier task than the old and even more contaminated port but we'll see! I do think something will happen and with a public corporation that is largely free of Toronto's political scene -- also in theory -- there is a much better chance of things happening.
This is a beautiful image. The coloured light on the water is simply wonderful. (:o)
