Sunset at City Place

This downtown development, Cityplace has been under development for many years now and is finally getting closer to completion. High-rise condominium towers are not everyone's cup of tea but this district is actually quite nice both from above and ground level. As ground level retail shops (including banks, and restaurants) begin to open in the neighbourhood it is starting to have a bit of street life. That crowd of cars you see waiting to get on the Gardiner Expressway, Toronto's downtown elevated freeway which is now hidden by this development, comes from much farther away. Many of the residents of this neighbourhood are within walking distance of the downtown or use the adjacent Light Rail line. When it is fully built out I believe there is to be both a school and park included in the neighrbouhood just behind the tower with the 'concord' billboard on it.

I also liked the blanket of snow over the sleepy looking railway tracks. :)

The warm light against the cool sky is very appealing.
Very nice night shot. The colours are so appealing!

Crikey Iain! I don't like high rise, not at all, but that wonderful Oly sure has a way with colours.
Iain Myrans: Hehe, Oly colour is nice and the E-3 doesn't dissapoint. This is actually a straight-from-camera jpeg. Vivid Colour mode, Saturation +1, Contrast -1.
I'm a big fan of low light photography, which got me started with an SLR. I'm pleased you've not done what most do, which is take the picture when there is no detail in the sky. You've caught this just right, not too late.
The snow on the tracks almost looked like volcanic ash to begin with, kind of surreal at first glance.
