It looks as though everyone was finding it quite magical.
Iain Myrans: I know, this is right in high-density mid-town toronto too. It's an old railway line that has been converted into a trail. I cropped out the high-rise ~just~ out of frame to the left. My favourite part is the woman in the black coat on cross-country skis!

Looks cold yet inviting. Clever capture using the people to structure the shot!
Iain Myrans: Thanks Martin smile I actually desaturated everything by 80% with the exception of the blue channel in RAW editing in order to emphasize them smile I'm glad you noticed ! Thanks for the comment as always smile
Snow on the south coast of England is a very rare treat, so I find this photograph magical! (:o)

I really like this shot. Initially your eyes are drawn to the colourfull people and the pathway but the way you have captured the landscape and more spesifickly the trees are really the treat here.
Very impressive POV on this snow white beautyful scenery
Iain Myrans: Thanks smile I took it from my balcony, I like it too wink
superb scene well captured, like the way your drawn towards the people with that little splash of coloursmile and a happy new year to you Iain

Thanks for explaining the desaturation. I spent a few minutes yesterday puzzled by the wrongness of the colour comparison between the trees and the people and wondering, in my ignorance of the techniques, how you'd done it. Love the photo. Makes me more sad to be leaving Toronto. Come soon for a photosafari in Prince Edward County smile
Iain Myrans: Don't worry Megan, I'll come say hi out in "Da' P-E-C" -- this is the new youthful and cool way of saying Prince Edward County. But seriously, you say it is one of the tourist capitals of Ontario, you know now I ~have~ to visit with my camera!
Like a painting. Good
