photoblog image The Old Riverdale Zoo

The Old Riverdale Zoo

This is about a month ago now. One that's been uploaded but not yet put in the queue. As the weather has gotten colder I've been out less so since I'm running short on photos I thought I'd share this one.

This photo is of an old zoo building when the Toronto Zoo used to be in Riverdale. I'm not sure when it moved but it wasn't in my life time and some of the buildings, in more remote areas of the former zoo, are totally abandoned, run down, like this one. The rest of the former zoo is really very nice with wonderful barns and animal runs.

If you didn't know it was the old zoo building, you could imagine this old stone building being so many things, couldn't you? Love the blue sky and sunshine against the rough stone wall.

Love the details in this picture, and could imagine it being quite an old building. I wonder what they will do with them?
