photoblog image The Sparow Lake Approach

The Sparow Lake Approach

Photos from the Trent Severn:
I had the opportunity to travel through the Trent Severn from Georgian Bay to Lake Simcoe at the end of September this year.  It is quite an experience and I highly recommend it as a fun and relaxing way to spend a few days if you're living in Ontario. More information on the historic waterway and canal system can be found here. The waterway is so "magnificent it has been named 'one of the finest interconnected systems of navigation in the world'.

About this photo:
This photo was taken as we approached the mouth of Sparrow Lake. Winds were calm so the flag was not fluttering and we were moving slowly too but it is a good view of the landscape here. As  you move through the Trent-Severn system the landscapes change dramatically from the hard-rock of Georgian Bay to the softer grasses and marshes to the south-east.

Note on banding: i didn't notice the banding in the sky in photoshop! Something seems to have happened on upload.
