photoblog image All Aglow

All Aglow

In All Aglow I try to demonstrate the wonderful visual impact that the new LED lights on the Canadian National Tower have on the City's evening skyline. Visualvault, I can see your building from here ;)   Actually, I took this one night while at the Toronto islands with Visualvault, his girlfriend Shirley, and Dolphyn to capture sunset photos. I am surprised that the Skydome (Rogers Centre) lights haven't been converted from blue to the Roger's Corporate Red since the buy-out and renaming. I'm glad though, the blue is so much nicer. It'll always be Skydome to real Torontonians and Jays fans :)

Very nice, electric shot! What a view, Iain, you are very lucky to live there.
Amazing photograph! The neon gives such impact, colourwize, and the contrasting shapes are so interesting. (:o)
Iain Myrans: Colour and contrast, courtesy of Olympus wink Well, a little had to do with me too i guess wink Thanks for the comment!
That was a fairly fun night.. you left out one of our traveling companions however...

Anyways, Rogers has different colours in there, and they change it every once in a while, it's been blue for a long long time tho, but they did used to have it green, and i've seen it red once, but in general they stick to the blue/purple... I think it would be a little extreme if the whole skyline was glowing red don't you? It would make it look like something out of a horror movie... Besides, if they didn't add the blue to the CN Towers red and white, we wouldn't be able to say we are america junior now would we? wink Gotta be patriotic for all those americans looking longingly across the lake...
