The Old Sign

Lets just say that i'm not endorsing anyone to stay here... (lol)... but I liked the old sign. It was kind of remenicent i thought of a sixties era vegas sign. Not much of anything (if anything else at all) like this in toronto.

I used a polarizer to get a nice dark sky and take the shine off the glass bulbs.

Nice tones Iain, the colours appear to be real nice. If you're not endorsing anyone, what ARE you doing...? tongue j/k
Iain Myrans: lol. i assure you, it's not an endorsement! If I'd angled wider and lower you'd believe me.

Oh come on, you know you want to find a reason to take advantage of thier 'rooms by the hour' specials... and with the entertainment downstairs, it's almost like vegas!

It is definetly one of the more unique signs in Toronto, I don't think very many places have stuff like that left any more, they all ripped it down and put up the always money making giant billboards or jumbotrons... It's a cool shot, the dark sky really sells it, the white letters wouldn't have popped so well against light blue.

That is so sharp and perfectly contrasty. Really like this. I keep trying to get shots like this, not quite got there yet. Nice composition.
Iain Myrans: Much of that can be credited to the very high grade circular polarizer. They are certainly a worthwhile investment.

Way to represent for the EAST SIIIIIIIIIDE.

Iain Myrans: haha, another Torontonian wink A good friend of mine live out on the east side and he's moving to Alberta for a new job and wants a print of this shot blown up nice and big as a reminder of home, lol.
