photoblog image Thanksgiving Sunset II

Thanksgiving Sunset II

This is installment 2/2 and I think I prefer this image over yesterday's.  See yesterday's image for a description of location and setting.

Like yesterday's picture, this was shot in RAW (.orf) format and processed for accurate white balance, contrast, and sharpness in the raw development phase. I then did a quick 16 bit curves tweak in photoshop.

Sadly I'd made the mistake of shooting a cat in between the first photo and this photo and I'd changed my ISO setting up to 400 from 100. While it's not noticable at this size, at larger sizes there is a bit of grain in this image. :( oops.

I think I prefer this one too. I just really like the gradual change in the blue of the sky, ande how the one cloud reflects the orange of the sun against the deepest blue of the sky.

Iain! That's it I have to crash your cottage again one of these days. Why the heck do I have a job! Both pictures are amazing. I especially like the composition. The two v's of darkness towards the bottom with the rich orange water really juxtapose the blue sky. I'm note even going to try and spell check this by the way.

I like this one too. Maybe even better because I love a lot of negative space and the coulds and contrails add a bit of interest.
