Water Taxi's at the Quay

Folks enjoying a warm summer evening down on Toronto's waterfront. I wanted to shoot a long exposure to make the water look nice and soft but not so long it would blur out the boats as they moved around. I didn't have a tripod so the camera was sitting on the ground on the edge of the concrete retaining wall.

Now my question is... Where exactly would you take a water taxi to in Toronto. Sure you could go to the islands, but there's a ferry for that (it's probably cheaper too), or you could go from one part of the city to the other, but again, public transit, or a taxi on land, also probably cheaper... It's not like the city has a river down the middle to cross and go from one end on one side to the other end on the other side... I don't get it...
Iain Myrans: I think they're actually more often used by people who miss the departure time for their evening harbour cruise boats!
