photoblog image Algobay Panorama

Algobay Panorama

This ship has been resting here for years in the Toronto Portlands. On the right in the distance is an old (now mothballed) coal power generator. Ships used to bring in coal and put them on the southern side of this channel (right). The picture is named after the ship, called the 'Algobay'.

This image has had no post processing but was stitched together from 5 photographs.

I took this just before going away for the long weekend while out with VV. More holiday weekend-shots to come. :)

gotta love panoramas. And the fact that you've not gone through any PP with this one... kudos to you! I'm liking the extra-sharp, choppy waters contrasting against the bright, clear sky. Looks like a great place to vacation fo' sho'.
Iain Myrans: Oh, this wasn't on my vacation. I took this the day before. Actually it's funny you say that. When we arrived to take photos of the ship a family who apperently owns it was arriving to stay on it for the weekend. Seems a bit weird to me but I guess the view from up there would let you see right past the container port (behind the camera) and into the Toronto Harbour and accross at the city. This was taken on the Friday afternoon just before I left. More vacation photos tomorrow and the day after. smile
