photoblog image An Evening Ferry Ride

An Evening Ferry Ride

So this was taken the same night as the 'A Photographer's Sunset' photograph. This, however, was taken on a moving ferry and I didn't have the opportunity to shoot from a steady tripod on a non-moving surface. The light was mostly gone by this point so I had to shoot at very high ISO. This image was taken at 1200ISO and came out very grainy. I figure it may not be 'printable' but I can certainly share the concept on my photoblog with all of you. The blue 'dome' to the left of the CN Tower is the 'Rogers Centre' in blue(formerly known as 'The SkyDome -- which it will always be known by to we Torontonians).

Post - some curves and levels work. Oh, and an attempt to use the 'Remove Noise' tool in photoshop.

Nice....shame about the quality though.
Sweet!!!! (as napoleon dynamite would say) Has a very painterly feel. Despite the noise, OLYMPUS COLORS ROCK!!!!!!!!!
I miss the CN tower, thanks for showing it.

Cheers
i don't think the noise is really overwhelming on this shot. i actually think that it is a pretty cool shot. great composition, terrific colors, wonderful reflection. considering everything that you were up against, i would say that you have a damn good capture.

Great colours, and I like the reflection of the lights from the boat... You've done very well with this, especially when you consider the situation you were in. Good work!

Such a shame about the high ISO, although the noise isn't really intrusive at this size, I guess it probably is on the original. Despite that, I think this is a *cracking* shot, with fantastic colours and mood.

Great colours and framing/timing with the ship and it's reflection and all. A real pity about the noise though. This would look great printed out at S8R.
I really love the colors of this shot - Nice night light - Cool !
(note: for those easialy religiously offended, please stop reading now)

So, what was god thinking when he created this... I think it went something like this:
Now if we take a boat see.. and we put it in the water like this... Then we take this big pointy thing i found at the park.. and we stick it back here.. like this... Then we add these little cubes like this.. aww crap, i spilled my gatorade on it.... ohhh.. that's nice... yeah.. that's really nice.... where's the blue gatorade, maybe if i mix a bit of that up the top here... yeah yeah... PERFECT! okay, time to go get a pizza...
