Washington Monument & The Reflecting Pool

Washington D.C. Summer 2004. Taken on a 35mm Minolta I managed to get my tripod past security/police for just enough time to set up atop the Lincoln Memorial at 11:30pm at night to get this shot. This is one of my personal favourites despite the grainy apperance.

I'm posting this picture in honour of The West Wing which had it's series finale this past Sunday. :)

Sometimes the rule of thirds just doesn't apply. This is one of those times.

Nice shot. Did you try shooting it in portrait mode to get the full reflection in the frame?
Iain Myrans: I would have but the reflecting pool ended before the monument was totally reflected in it so it would but cut off either way. I ended up shooting this way since I liked the trees so much. : )
