Is that a Norwegian forest cat? It's a beautiful moggy. Love the expression on it's face.
Iain Myrans: Maven! We've been trying to figure out exactly what kind of cat she is since she was adopted from the human society. She's the sweetest little thing and very photogenic too! She actually quite likes the camera. I think she's intrigued by its noises wink . The little research on Norwegian Forest Cats I've done tonight certainly show many similarities so you may very well be right! Thank you!

Very very very nice shot! Though the background kind of tells you where this was taken. Have you considered lens blur?
Iain Myrans: I hadn't but that's a good idea. I'll give it a shot although probably not tonight. If I do i'll repost it back for the same day with the changes and leave a comment about it smile Thanks for the tip!

this is a gorgeous shot iain! as soon as i saw it i thought it was a maine coon cat - more common in north america than in britain. they are my favourite cats smile here's a link to more info, with a little bit on the possible relations between maine coons and norwegian forest cats: "Interestingly, the breed closest to the Maine Coon is the Norwegian Forest Cat which, although geographically distant, evolved in much the same climate, and lends credence to the theory that some of the cats responsible for developing the Maine Coon were brought over by the Vikings." Hi Iain

I was jus looking through your images- their gorgeous-great work.

I clickced on thisbecause my heart jumped when I saw it because I actually thought it was my cat that I had in University.

She has passed away now, but looks remarkably like Maven, and yes your friend is right, she is Maine Coon.

Pure bred, this can be a very very expensive breed, and they can be quite aggressive, dating back to their historically interestting roots... but brought up in the right home, they can be the best mate.
